So you've decided to make what may be your first trip that includes some leisure time in the capital city of Connecticut... now what? You're in luck, because the Hartbeat of New England has a ton to offer. Here are a few of the couple's favorite spots - and if you make it to any feel free to post a social media picture with the hashtag #ONelly so we can join in on the fun!

Fingers very deeply crossed for fair weather, please explore the downtown area by foot. The Wadsword Antheneum always has fun exhibits, the Connecticut Science Center is a favorite of the mother of the groom, or check out City Hall or the Capitol Building for a tour of the architecture (Monday through Friday).

Stop by Bushnell Park for a ride on the carousel and if you're feeling adventurous walk over to Comerio on Park Street for some legit spanish food.

If you make it over to the Mortensen Riverfront Plaza on the banks of the majestic Connecticut River (swimming not recommended in this section but feel free to hop in if you're up in Hadley) you'll be able to see the bridge Matt used to ride his bike over on the way to work in Manchester!

Uber/Lyft work just fine in Hartford, and will help give you some access to additional nearby options to visit, especially in West Hartford.

Some of the finest breakfast sandwiches in the world can be found at the Harvest Country Store in West Hartford. They do run out of bagels sometimes, so don't get there too much later than noon.

Elizabeth Park is another great spot (possibly named after the mother of the bride) to visit for a walk around to admire the flowers and view of downtown Hartford.

If you're looking for a more scenic hike/walk, check out the West Hartford Reservoirs. The red and yellow loops have some nice views of the water.

West Hartford Center is also a great spot if you want to walk around a cool downtown and do a little shopping. Blue Back Square is the envy development of every town in CT!

BIG BONUS POINTS for anybody who takes CTfastrak from Union Station in Hartford to Flatbush Ave and walks over for a beer at New Park Brewing.

If you need any recommendations, text Matt (413) 320-1347 and he'll let you know what's up.
